21 nations for 2019 Beach Woodball World Cup in Uganda

A record 21 countries have confirmed participation in the 2019 Beach Woodball World Cup slated for May 25-31st at the Spennah Beach, Entebbe in Uganda.
Joseph Collins Ssemanda, the general secretary of the Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF) confirmed to mirrorsportafrica on Tuesday that the 21 had beaten April 15th as the last day of registration.
“We are very happy that a record 21 countries will send players for the World Cup we shall be hosting. This is very big because we shall have over 700 players here,” added Ssemanda.
Last year the International Woodball Federation (IWbF) picked Uganda to host the Beach Woodball World Cup after beating Taiwan to the bid.
Ssemanda said although they are struggling to put finances together with only about 50 days left to the event, they have got assurance from the government and the China Embassy in Uganda to help.
The 2019 Beach Woodball World Cup will feature the stroke competition, Fairway competition and Youth Event for men and women.
The countries that will feature include; Uganda, China, Burundi, Chinese Taipei, Ghana, Hong Kong, India, Kenya, Korea, Malawi, Malaysia, Namibia, Rwanda, Singapore, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Zambia, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Zanzibar.
