Somalia battle Kenya in Cecaca U-15 Challenge Cup opening tie

Somalia’s Ocean Stars U-15s will this afternoon open their campaign in the inaugural Cecafa U-15 Challenge Cup against Kenya in Asmara.
The Group A game that kicks-off at 2pm (EAT) will take place at the Asmara National Stadium.
Ignatius Osei-Fosu Kwame, the Somalia U-15 coach told Mirrorsportafrica on Thursday that his team is prepared to start well in the competition. “These are young boys who are ready to express them selves on the pitch,” added the coach.
But the Kenya U-15 team who look better built have also promised to go all out to try and get a win on the opening day. “Winning the opening game in such a tournament means a lot and I have told the boys to go fight for that,” said Sagar Lakhani, the Kenya coach.
The second game will see hosts Eritrea take on Burundi in another Group B match at the same Stadium. Eritrea’s coach Mekonen Zwede told mirrorsportafrica that they will not underrate any team. “We shall take every game very seriously.
The tournament, the first of it’s kind in Africa has attracted ten teams Eritrea, Burundi, Kenya, Sudan, Somalia, Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Tanzania.
Supported the the Federation of International Football Federations (FIFA), the tournament will climax on August 30th.
